How to: Create the Perfect Winter Style

By Heather Mellican

As the temperature begins to drop it gets more difficult to climb out of bed and face the day. Below are some handy tips that will help warm the whole house, both in comfort and style.

Add layers:
Just like you would wear multiple layers during winter, do the same to your home. Create layers with cushions and throws to add warmth. Not only will it create the perfect winter look but will keep you cosy through the winter months.

Rug up: Use thick textured rugs to keep your feet warm on those chilly mornings.

Create a mood: Create a sense of warmth by using dark tones. Darker shades, such as black and charcoals, work perfectly against neutral tones.

Light it up: Decorate tables and sideboards with lamps or candles to create a warm glow on those gloomy days.

Make it toasty: Make sure your home is ready to take on the winter chill. Nobody wants to wake up to a broken heater, so double check it is fully functioning and ready to go. If you have plans to entertain outside during the colder months, think about a fire pit. It will keep all your guests warm while creating the perfect campfire atmosphere.
