Local community rallies for A Little Ray of Giving

By Heather Mellican

This Christmas, Ray White continued its popular tradition of giving with the return of A Little Ray of Giving.

Every year, Australians are asked to donate a gift for a deserving child and drop it into one of their participating Ray White offices.

This year, Ray White Reservoir participated for our second year, along with our new office in Preston, partnering with the Preston Salvation Army to help distribute the gifts to disadvantaged families and children.

Our two offices has an overwhelming response from our local communities, with our Reservoir office collecting 228 gifts and our new office at Preston collecting 39 gifts for an outstanding total of 267 presents in the three week campaign.

This gift drive is a really simple way to help put a smile on the face of children and families who may need some extra cheer at this time of year, said one of Ray White Reservoir’s Directors, John Catanzariti.

“We couldn’t be happier with the support from the local community, it’s great to know we can help deserving families who may otherwise go without this Christmas,” said Ray White Reservoir Director, Arthur Mitsinikos.

“To see so many people get around the campaign was truly amazing. The numbers just kept growing and it was a joy to come to work every day and see so many gifts under our tree.”

We had a great response from our clients, as well as local partners including Maharishi School, who delivered over 40 gifts with their Principal and four student representative that helped run the campaign.

“As the new Principal of Maharishi School, I felt very proud to see the students embrace “A Little Ray of Giving” as this wonderful initiative reflects one of the core values of our school community, which is to have purposefulness in how we contribute to the world,” said Principal of Maharishi, Steve Charisis.

“We would like to thank everyone that dropped by a gift, no matter how big and small. We are delighted that we can be involved this Christmas campaign and help give back to the community and help make a child smile this Christmas,: John said.

Ray White has run this initiative across Australia and New Zealand each December since 2012. Last year more than 300 offices across Australia and New Zealand helped raise 30,000 gifts for disadvantaged families this Christmas.
